Villa Sati

Villa Sati is located in the quiet village of Sebali in the district of Kaliki, an area of traditional rice fields and tree-filled ravines which have been carved by rivers racing through fertile volcanic soil. The Villa is one hour and 15 minutes’ drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, a 50-minute drive from several of Bali’s famed beaches, and about ten minutes from the town of Ubud. Its central location makes it convenient for touring the island.

Situated 300 meters above sea level in the foothills of the central mountain range, the region boasts a fresher, more pleasant climate than the southern coastal regions. Ubud is Bali’s cultural centre; each surrounding village features a different art form, with skills handed down through the generations: painters, wood and stone carvers, weavers, silver and goldsmiths, mask makers and dancers.

Ubud’s numerous art galleries and museums display works both modern and traditional which reflect the Island’s rich history. Shops and market stalls sell handicrafts, jewellery, woodcarvings, textiles, paintings and antiques. Visitors flock to the frequent cultural dance performances, which are often performed in historic temples and palaces.

Many of the dances are based on the Hindu epic, The Ramayana. Most popular are the Kecak, Fire and the Legong Dances. Each village has its own Gamelan orchestra. Wherever you are the hypnotic rhythms of this staccato metallic and bamboo music is rarely out of earshot The Balinese practice a unique form of Hinduism. It is everywhere in evidence, a highly aesthetic sensibility that pervades every aspect of daily life. Frequent religious ceremonies, attended by beautifully costumed men and women, are often open to visitors.

Deep in rural Bali, yet only a ten minute drive from Ubud, the Island’s cultural centre, Villa Sati appears to float upon its surrounding rice fields. This one bedroom plus hideaway, complete with plunge pool, takes its name from the Buddhist concept of “mindfulness”. It can be rented independently or in conjunction with Villa Vajra.

An arch of giant bamboo and an elaborate, traditional Balinese gateway marks the entrance to Villa Sati. This private, walled enclave on the grounds of Vajra Villas is comprised of two thatched-roof pavilions bordering a courtyard, a small garden and a pool. The main two-storey pavilion is a jewel-like marriage of wood and glass offering stunning panoramic views of the rice fields, allows for an appreciation of the complexity and beauty of time-honoured practices of rice farming. The area is also a birdwatchers’ paradise, and in every direction lies an invitation to leisurely exploration. The caring staff provide a glimpse into the gentle Balinese spirit, fulfilling their duties with enthusiasm and ready smiles.

The villa has been appealingly appointed by the owners who custom-designed the furnishings.

Living & Dining Room

The air-conditioned downstairs living-dining room has merbau wood floors with stone borders, and contemporary upholstered furniture of teak wood and rattan. Small bronze statues and artefacts reflect the serene ambience of the villa. The desk overlooks the rice fields as does the dining table, which is set in its own bay window; the cushioned bench seat invites lounging, reading, bird-watching or daydreaming. A teak unit houses a multi-channel satellite flat screen TV, DVD player and quality sound system. The DVD library offers a wide selection for movie viewing.

Kitchen & Food

Smoked glass doors slide open to reveal a small, fully-equipped kitchen where guests are free to practice their own culinary skills. The in-house cook will prepare your complimentary breakfast. A special treat is

Villa DSuite (3br)

Centrally located on the hippest area of Bali – Oberoi, this villa sits right next to the famed Oberoi Hotel and Ku De Ta, one of the best culinary establishments to be found anywhere on the island. Other famed restaurants and eateries such as the restaurant at the legian, Toscana, Rumors, Mykonos, hu’u, and La Luciola, are all conveniently located within walking distances. Literally steps away from the golden beaches of Petitinget, the location is the next best thing to staying in a beachfront property.

Villa DSuite is a perfect place for your holiday hideaway, small family holiday, week end holiday with friends, and ofcourse for the honeymooners.

Villa DSuite has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms each with ensuite private bathroom, air-conditioned living and dining room, open living room, fully equipped kitchen, large swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, garden, one car parking lot, and 4 house staff.

Designed by Australian designer Dean Kempnich, Villa Dsuite truly refines the word “Bali Modern”. Unmistakable Balinese rooflines mix with modern yet pleasing painting color schemes, combining lush tropical garden surrounding the villa, this is a holiday accommodation like no other.

Upon stepping into this brand new villa, the immediate feeling is one of youthful energy and luxurious comfort. The villa’s designer touches are instantly evident from the very first sight, color combination of the walls and well placed, carefully selected art objects: modern painting and turn of the century Bali photographs on the walls, and primitive wood/stone carvings that sits on polished wood pedestals. Combined with refined designer furniture, and views of tropical greenery all around, the villa permeates the new beat of Bali.

The modern touch continues into the garden and pool area, merging the inside of the house with the outside surroundings. Locally available volcanic stones called “Batu Candi” are used extensively through out the outdoor areas, a perfect example of how the use of natural materials can be adapted into a tropical contemporary design.

The lush tropical garden design takes on an almost geomantic approach, which compliments the contemporary design of the interior. Belonging mostly to the palm and heliconia species, the plants used through out the garden truly reflected the feeling of tropical living. Two “Batu Candi” sundecks rest at either side of the natural stone pool, one exposed to the sunlight, which is perfect for sunbathing, while the other placed under three mature trees, perfectly suited for lying under the shade for some long neglected siestas.

Roofed in traditional Balinese tile roof, this one storied villa is comprised of three bedrooms; two on either side of the semi open living area flanked by a 2 tiered pond, and another to the one side of the air conditioned living room. All three bedrooms have it’s own ensuite bathrooms and all equipped with 33 channeled cable TV.

The living areas of the villa are the best combination of both worlds: indoors and outdoors. The indoor living room is fully air conditioned and houses the sofa area with audio-visual systems housed in cabinets. Entertainment facilities consist of a cable television, DVD player, and stereo system also supplied are a selection of DVDs, books and board games. To the other end of this area sits a long, highly polished teak.

The table that enables 8 to sit and dine comfortably. Behind the dinning table is the pantry with minibar, refrigerator, and sink. All around are ceiling to floor windows, which opens up to the semi out door living area, effectively combines the two into one large living space. Here one finds a six-person round.

All floors are made of white Terrazzo tiles divided by glass, which again shows the resourcefulness of the designer when it comes to the combination of materials used. The polished Terrazzos continue into the 3 air conditioned bedrooms, where the feeling of tropical contemporary designs persevered, complete with a split unit air conditioner, wooden built in closets, a personal safety box and large windows and doors opening onto the garden or pool.

All bedrooms feature ensuite bathrooms, which has separate shower and tub areas, and also uses Terrazzo through out the floor, tub and washbasin. All bedrooms are equipped with a cable television, making a lazy morning even harder to get up to.

This villa’s design accomplished in capturing what “Bali Modern” is all about contemporary design, minimalism, space, and attention to detail. With its urban location on an almost beach front location, it is ideally situated for holiday makers who want to enjoy the best of what the Oberoi area has to offer.

    Villa Coco Groove (3br)

Coco Groove is a privately owned 3 bedroom modern minimalist style villa located in the heart of Seminyak just behind the renowned Oberoi Hotel in Bali and just minutes away from the beach.

It will take you only around 20 minutes to travel from ad to the international airport, a couple of minutes to the tourist Mecca of Legian/Kuta and only 20 minutes from the island’s pre-eminent signature golf course, the Nirwana Bali Golf Course. The golf course perhaps boasts the most beautiful location of any golf course in the world and has recently been voted one of world’s top ten golf courses.

In a developing area of Bali in Seminyak, in the south of the island, the Singaporean owner of a plot of land wanted a holiday property that was open, convenient to live in, and yet maintained some references to traditional Balinese dwellings (though not at all overtly). The site was originally virgin paddy fields, and though close to the sea, there was no possibility of a view from the single-storey structure, which was also what the client requested.

Architect Ian Chee has designed a complex that creates entirely its own habitat within the surrounding walls. Chee’s intention was to re-interpret the traditional Balinese layout of a dwelling. In this, there is a series of small construction grouped in the same compound, with a minimum of five areas: entrance, bedroom kitchen, bathroom and granary.

The precise layout varies according to status and caste, and follows rules laid down in treatises, some going back to the fifteenth century. Masonry platforms are traditional, as is the interpenetration of interior and exterior space.

One of the bedrooms seen from its small courtyard garden, planted with Bird of Paradise plants (Strelitzia reginae). The garden, which can be entered through sliding glass doors, connects the bedroom to the bathroom. The same bedroom is seen from its entrance. A full-height sliding door that can open the room fully to the rest of the compound. The living shelter is in the background. The bathroom of another bedroom seen from its courtyard garden, open-air bathing is another Balinese tradition that suits the climate. A mirror running the entire width of the bathroom enhances its open, natural aspect.

The bedrooms and the TV/Study room are fully air-conditioned. The master bedroom offers a Chinese style antique bed with en-suite bathroom and the both guest rooms offer double bed bedrooms with private bathrooms. All rooms have a view to towards the pool and the large open lawn shaded with tall swaying coconut trees.

Coco Groove has its own in-ground pool tiled with beautiful natural green color stone tiles. Behind the pool overlooking the entire property is a Balinese bale just perfect for those afternoon naps. Alternatively you can just laze beside the pool on one of the outdoor lounges.

This house, completed in 2004 and with a total built-up area of 550 square meters, was conceived as a series of bales (the Balinese version of a gazebo) linked by a covered walkway and orientated to take advantage of the prevailing winds, using large cantilevered overhangs and plated pergolas for shade and protection from rain.

By adapting the arrangement of a traditional Bali home, the architect was able to satisfy the client’s wish to keep the guest quarters separate, and these were located in a line extending from the corner housing the kitchen, service quarters and garage. The living shelter followed by the master room extends from this corner at a right angle, while the house temple was placed facing the sacred mountain Gunung Agung in the opposite corner of the compound.

One entire wall of the compound is lined by plantings of small trees. The water connects the living area at firth with the bathrooms that adjoin the master and second bedrooms. The focus of the house is the living shelter, roofed but open on three sides. In the centre of this is the sunken seating area, into which steps lead down from two opposite corner.

Early morning sunlight streams into the living shelter (overleaf), with its dining table at left. The area faces out on to the lawn, swimming pool and a small bale in traditional style, thatched with alang-alang grass.

As the architect comments, ‘In material terms, we chose a palette of simple finishes’. And in the bathrooms the combination is of river pebbles set in one wall, wood, concrete and polished metal. A borderless mirror, projecting slightly to accommodate concealed lighting behind, gives a modern contrast to the pebbles.

Woven bamboo matting in various forms is used for cupboards and screens. A bathroom door-handle is cast in metal from one of the river pebbles used throughout the house. A dressing-room mirror, designed by the architect, is set in the neck of a tailor’s dummy imprint of bamboo matting has been left in a concrete ceiling from the formwork.

Coco Groove is fully serviced with its own staff, including a cook, a maid, gardener, and night time security staff. The staff is at your call for the entire duration of your stay and will cater to your every need.

    Villa Ombak Luwung (5br)

A visit to Ombak Luwung will allow you to experience an entirely new dimension of beauty, peace and tranquility. Ombak Luwung means ‘magnificent waves’ in the Balinese language. In other words, Ombak Luwung creates the ideal environment to relax and enjoy the beautiful blue waters of the Indian Ocean, right at your doorstep. The name reflects the fact that the ever-changing view of the sea provides the backdrop for the buildings and its gardens. The pounding surf will set the rhythm of your stay here. Ombak Luwung is that very rare combination of absolute beach front and exclusive privacy, exquisitely realized in the form of a Balinese-style architectural masterpiece.

Every element in the design of Ombak Luwung contributes to the harmonious enjoyment of this special place. The placement of the structures, shrines, gardens and ornaments are all informed by ancient Balinese principals that will maximize the peace and well-being of its occupants.

The overall design is executed in traditional Balinese materials and organization. Each room is a separate structure, with simple elements of natural wood and stone topped with alang alang (thatched roofs), offset by intricate and fascinating decorative touches. Naturally, the entire complex is set within lush gardens. The combined effect of the fundamental design features create a sheltered and peaceful center courtyard, from which one’s attention is inevitably pulled to the wide-open spaces facing our stunning sea view.

From the main entrance, one proceeds down a shady pergola-covered walkway to the central plaza. On all sides, you will see massive stone mural-walls depicting scenes of Balinese village life. On your right stands a two-storey structure which floats on a giant lilly-pond. The ground floor of this building is configured as a study/library/media room and can also be used as a fifth bedroom with en-suite and outdoor shower. Upstairs, another bedroom provides sea views, an en-suite bathroom and a beautiful Chinese wedding bed.

Look to the left from the plaza and you will see the wantilan, a traditional Balinese living room. This is the heart of Ombak Luwung, with its comfortable sitting area looking out to the pool and the ocean beyond. The wantilan is complete with a powder room, wet kitchen and sound system for your enjoyment. Beside the wantilan is the kitchen and air-conditioned dining room with seating for up to ten.

Opposite the kitchen is a garden-view bedroom with king size bed and en-suite. This bedroom opens into a private courtyard with a massage pavilion and outdoor shower.

A masseuse can be arranged by request through our staff.

On either side of the wantilan, facing the sea, are two spectacular sea-view bedrooms with king size beds and en-suite. The bathroom of the master bedroom is separate pavilion, floating in its own pond and composed from black stone and terrazzo.

In front of it all an expansive deck serves the beautiful black stone swimming pool (8 meters x 16 meters), with 360 degree infinity edge. Choose from teak wood lounge chairs or relax in the cooling stone lounges facing the sea. There is also a large heated spa-pool for your relaxation. An intricately carved lumbung (rice barn) at the edge of the beach makes a perfect venue for viewing the stunning sunsets of Bali.

    Location
Ombak Luwung is located at #1 Jalan Nelayan (Street of the Fisherman) in the Canggu village area. Canggu is located approximately half way between the tourist district of Kuta and the important Balinese temple of Tanah Lot. We are about 45 minutes’ drive from the international airport. Within walking distance you will find the world famous Canggu surf beach (also known as Echo Beach) and the Tugu Hotel, which boasts an amazing collection of Indonesian antiquities on display as well as an excellent restaurant. Half an hour’s drive North, adjacent to the Tanah Lot temple, you will find the Meridien Resort and Nirvana golf course, frequently described as the most beautiful golf course in the world.Going South towards Kuta and the airport, one comes to Seminyak and Legian with many fine restaurants and shopping opportunities.

    Events
Ombak Luwung is an ideal venue for events such as weddings and family gatherings. Small functions of up to 15 persons can be handled by our own staff and using our own catering supplies. Functions of more than 15 persons will require additional staff and supplies and are subject to additional rental charges. Events of more than 20 persons will require the purchase of an entertainment license from the local village authorities and may require the hiring of an event coordinator. Our proximity to several important Balinese temples means that we may be asked to observe noise restrictions or curfews. Please enquire for further details – with adequate time to prepare, we can assure you an unforgettable event.

    Food & Beverage
Guests may have any or all meals prepared by our staff. The timing of meals is entirely up to you. We only request that the staff be given some advance notice of very early or very late meal requirements. Villa Ocean Bali

Villa Ocean is the most amazing beachfront location and view on Bali ( more than a beachfront: a seafront ).

Overlooking the Indian Ocean from all sides of the property, it provides wellbeing, peace and relaxation to soothe the mind and calm the spirit.

The 2,000m2 land, a small cliff part of a holy temple, is aligned with the beach. Then, the property offers fantastic 180? panorama on the ocean, Kuta and Jimbaran bays. Jukung local fishermen boats dot the horizon. At night time their lights is a new emotion.

If you are a surfer, there is a good break in front of the house and the famous Canggu spot is just a stroll away.

If not, for sure you’ll enjoy watching them taking the best waves. While either on your sunloungers or sitting on the canopied bed, the deep harmony of the ocean keeps entertaining you.

Feel the sea breeze day and night that comes to touch and cool you. Everything is at ease.

When you are tired of all relaxation and ready for the hottest restaurants, parties or the best shopping, Seminyak is only 20 minutes away.

Villa Ocean is a favorite location for honeymoon or small family.

Villa Ocean is located in the traditional fishing village of Seseh on Bali’s south-western coast. Encompassed by nature, within peaceful rural surroundings, it is only twenty-five minutes’ drive from the fashionable shops, world-class restaurants and vibrant nightspots of Seminyak, and about forty-five minutes’ drive from Bali’s International Airport. It is a fifteen-minute car journey from Nirwana Golf Course, one of the best golf courses in Asia; and close to Tanah Lot, Bali’s most dramatic and venerated sea temple.

The majority of the island’s tourist attractions are also within easy reach. The approach to the villa is by way of a country lane marked by an ancient, holy banyan tree. Emerald rice fields line the road as it meanders through an avenue of coconut palms.

Colourful temple ceremonies, together with farmers in conical hats riding rusty old upright bicycles, are a common sight – the rural life of Seseh village has not been dented by tourism

    Villa description

An absolute private accommodation with traditional style.

Ocean is made of 2 classic buildings, comprising the main and guests houses, both well maintained & set.

It features 2 air conditioning bedrooms with 2 en suite bathrooms, a design within its own natural environment, which creates the ambiance of a traditional living style.

The villa does not offer a luxury but a traditional taste of Bali culture and a home comfort. It definitely provides a contemporary Balinese style architecture.

Ocean rests within a private natural walled garden, complete with a 17 x 5 meter pool falling in the Indian sea.

The fresh green coastal lawns are dotted with palms. In one corner, overlooking the ocean, a bench is a peaceful haven for chilling out with a book or a sunset cocktail.

The smooth flat gardens are perfect for weddings, and also provide a great play area for children. The swimming pool with sunbeds has a toddler’s platform at the shallow end.

The garden is romantically lit at night by ground lamps that illuminate the trees.

    THE MAIN HOUSE: “RUMAH UTAMA”

Rumah Utama is set within the open-air living and dining pavilion, the kitchen, the main room with its en suite opened bathroom and the outstanding sunset “aperitif” corner. It overlooks the garden, the pool, Kuta bay and the ocean.

    The main room

The TV corner is set up with a mattress which can be used as an extra bed for a young child. An extra mosquito net can be easily installed.

The en-suite bathroom has an open air garden and shower with hot and cold running water.

From your bed: an 180? gorgeous panorama from sunrise to wonderful sunsets. This is a favorite with honeymooners.

The bedroom is completed with queen-size bed, mosquito net and AC.

From your bed: the ocean and Uluwatu cliff.

    Culture, Religion & Temple

Culture and Religion are the base of the Balinese life.

Especially because the villa is located on the Batu Nungul temple land,

    Villa Mako (3br)

Complete with swimming pool, located in a quiet traditional village above a small river valley. The single-storey villa is neo-colonial in style, similar to the Dutch guest houses of the Javanese and Malay hill stations, characterized by louvre shutters, old teak doors, and spectacular high wooden ceilings built of seasoned timbers. The eclectic interiors reflect the travels and passions of the owners, introducing Balinese and Javanese antiques, combined with a bold use of colour to create a very personal atmosphere.

Designed to maximize the natural light, and catch the cool breezes even at the hottest time of year, the property offers a blend of air-conditioned comfort and open-air tropical living. Its elevated position, meanwhile, affords beautiful open views over the pool to a jungle canopy against a backdrop of rice terraces.

The furnishings and decorations include large mirrors, armchairs, cushions and loungers that focus on comfort as well as style. There are numerous relaxation areas, together with a huge amount of covered space, so guests will always find a private spot for peace and quiet. In fact, a large family or group of people could stay at the villa and still lose each other within its depths. In addition to this, guests have the choice of three different eating areas, all of which present a unique ambience.

An advanced water filter system is used throughout the villa, raising the quality of the tap water to provide a pure drinking water source in the kitchen, with drinking water also supplied to the bathrooms and bedrooms.

There is an on-site laundry and plenty of storage space for luggage.

    Entrance

The villa is approached via a private driveway with a secure car parking area. Two Chinese welcome statues guard the entrance beside a set of double Balinese doors, which open to reveal a covered walkway with a pitched roof, ensuring that there is no danger of getting wet during the rainy season. The walkway circumvents a lotus pond complete with a bubbling water feature in its centre.

    Kitchen

Unlike many villas in Bali, where the kitchen is tucked away at the back of the property, the large and immaculate open kitchen at Villa Mako is a feature in itself, situated on one side of the lotus pond. Cream terrazzo work surfaces are flanked by well-stocked glass-fronted cupboards full of sparkling tableware. The kitchen is fully equipped with a sizeable refrigerator, an oven with a large gas hob, and everything else that the staff will need to create delicious meals. Wayan is an excellent cook; a menu is provided showing the dishes that she can prepare, and she is also very happy to work with other recipes and ingredients.

    Breakfast area

To one side of the kitchen, overlooking the lotus pond is a breakfast area.
Javanese-style glass lanterns hang from the ceiling, together with paddle fans. The circular marble-topped breakfast table is flanked by six chairs with brightly coloured yellow green and orange cushions matched by a decorative panel on the wall. A guest washroom is located next door.

    Media Room

Bordering the lotus pond is a cozy media room, reminiscent of a wooden chalet, and furnished with an oversized sofa with deep cushions in gorgeous shades of green, turquoise and orange. Colorful artwork adorns the walls, and there is also a sofa-bed, a leather lazy rocking chair, a double-decker coffee table, some attractive lamps, shelf units, and a leather woven mat on the floor. The room is built around four recycled timber pillars that support the roof. Folding doors open directly on to the lotus pond, so that the pavilion appears to float. Guests can relax in air conditioned comfort or they can open the doors wide and be cooled by ceiling fans and natural breezes.

The Media room is equipped with a TV together with DVD/CD players, and dial-up Internet access. A small Vaio laptop computer has been installed for those who would rather not bring their own. The high quality sound system is linked to speakers all around the villa, or alternatively music can simply be contained within the media room. There is a connection to the amp for those who want to listen to music stored on their personal iPods or laptops.

    Main Hall

The central focus of the villa is the magnificent main hall, an expansive living and dining area with folding doors on either side that open wide to allow the cool breezes to circulate. The soaring roof in this splendid pavilion is 8.5 metres high, and supports paddle ceiling fans. The hall is furnished with a formal teak dining table that comfortably seats ten and is lit by pendulous globe-shaped lanterns. Traditional Indonesian artefacts are displayed on wall shelves, while chairs and a huge daybed, complete with an abundance of cushions, is positioned around a funky coffee table. Lamp-stands in the form of wooden Javanese statues, together with a huge, crystal wall mirror, complete the picture of luxury. Folding doors composed of wood and glass open onto a sunny Batu Yogya stone terrace, which doubles the living space of the hall making it a perfect venue for parties.

    Bedrooms

Each of the three air-conditioned bedrooms presents a theme; each boasts an en-suite bathroom, and each is equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a mini-bar/fridge and safe deposit box. The two master bedrooms enjoy soaring roofs and magnificent views together with sunny balconies at the front, furnished with lazy chairs, overlooking the garden and pool. Fitted with ceiling fans, the balconies are great spots for relaxing with morning tea or afternoon cocktails.

The Bali Room is furnished with a super-king-size four-poster bed canopied with the traditional hand-woven textile known as ‘ikat’. The room features polished teak floors and French windows with louvre shutters, which open out onto the terrace and balcony. Antique furniture, bedside tables and lamps create a romantic ambience. Timeworn stained glass doors lead into a large dressing room with a Batu Yogya stone floor, a massage bed and an abundance of cupboards with antique louvre doors. This room can also be used for nursery, and a cot can be provided. Another colonial style door leads into the expansive cream-coloured terrazzo bathroom, featuring ‘his and hers’ washbasins resting upon a terrazzo vanity unit. There is also a huge wall mirror, hanging lamps, ceiling fans, an alcoved toilet, and a powerful overhead rainshower complemented by the thoughtful provision of a handheld shower. A glass skylight in the roof allows the sunlight to stream in above a sunken sculptured terrazzo bathtub, which is big enough for two. Decorative green bamboo trunks in terrazzo pots add to the tropical feel.

On the opposite side of the terrace, double doors open into the Colonial Room with its lovely polished teak floor, and a super-king-size four-poster bed with white drapes and snakeskin cushions. A gold-framed mirror hangs on the wall and French windows with louvre shutters enhance the colonial theme. The bedroom is furnished with a desk, armchairs, and an ottoman at the end of the bed, and there is a dressing area with fitted cupboards. The en-suite bathroom is L-shaped; fixtures and furnishings include an oversized sunken sculptured terrazzo bathtub, ‘his and hers’ washbasins, a toilet hidden within an alcove, hanging lamps, a rainshower with a handheld shower, a massage bed and ceiling fans. The bathroom has an open air feel, due to the provision of glass windows in the roof, maximising the natural light.

The Bamboo Room is accessed by double antique doors, and can be set up with two beds for younger guests or as double room. The en-suite cream terrazzo bathroom features twin washbasins, a toilet hidden within an alcove, ceiling fans, and a rainshower with a handheld shower. Glass windows in the roof maximise the natural light.

    Garden & Pool

A wrought iron gate heralds the entrance to a central flight of steps leading down to the pool through an avenue of umbrella ferns. The beautiful garden then rolls down to a river located behind its boundary walls. The garden is dotted with sweet-scented frangipani and orchids, and bordered by mature trees including teak, coconut palms, and a towering breadfruit tree. On either side of the garden is a banana, palm and pandanus plantation.

Although the gate is an attractive feature in itself, this with an adjoining fence separates the main house from the pool to ensure the safety of any young children staying at the property.

The 18-metres mango-shaped swimming pool is 1.5 metres deep with a large platform area just 15 centimetres deep for kids. The cobalt-blue tiled pool is filled with light salt water instead of chlorine, and is equipped with an innovative filtering system utilizing pure water from the villa’s own bore.

The stone pool terrace is furnished with six sunloungers, table and chairs, four large Balinese parasols, and two poolside statues of Balinese gods and goddesses. On one side is a barbeque ‘bale’ pavilion, with a thatched ‘alang alang’ roof, a dining table for six, a fridge, a fan, an intercom to the house, speakers for the sound system, and a sink. A washroom is located behind the pavilion, and the staff will prepare barbeques beside the pool. Additionally, there is a poolside reading bale, fitted with bamboo blinds, a fan, and a colourful mattress and cushions.

Twelve flaming torches at night cast a stunning reflection of the Balinese parasols within the still water of the pool, turning the scene into a romantic little paradise, serenaded by a chorus of frog song.

At the bottom of the garden is a rustic brick wall with a door opening onto the river bank; here guests will find a simple and private riverside bale, perfect for meditation. This is also the site of a holy spring, where offerings to the gods are made by the local villagers. Eighty metres along the river-bank is the village temple. Guests will be welcomed at temple festivals, some may even be lucky enough to witness a barong dance or other Hindu ceremony. The villa staff will be happy to help with ceremonial clothing and advice on etiquette.

    Villa Raja (4br)

The villa features another 3 stunning bedrooms with beautiful ensuite bathrooms. One forms the upper floor of a separate smaller timber jineng which overhangs the huge 20 metres pool, rimmed with carved stone and fed by spouting, 2 metres stone statues. Here you swim in drinkable water produced by a sophisticated colloidal silver purification plant. The pool also features an 8 metre waterslide made by the builders of Bali’s famous roller coaster waterslide centre, “Waterbom” in Kuta.

This quite extraordinary dwelling is one of Bali’s newest and most opulent mansions, and yet the moment you enter Villa RaJa, it’s as if you’ve taken a time machine back to Bali’s golden era of architecture. Tired of the plethora of minimalist “Bali Zen” villas springing up across the island, owners Ralph and Janet Hogan set out to turn back the clock and create an architectural masterpiece to showcase the myriad textures, styles, arts and crafts for which Bali is so rightly famous.

Crafted by two of the island’s most talented traditional builders, this is a structure of great beauty with a timeless patina which weaves state of the art technology into a fabulous fabric of antiquity. 400 year old timbers, richly carved paneling, coral, pebbles, limestone, marble and even re-cut Art Deco roof tiles decorate every aspect of the building.

Beneath this dramatic exterior, new buildings frame and stabilize an ancient 12 metre high ironwood and teak “jineng”, containing the ground floor media room (complete with giant cinema screen and foundation-shaking Yamaha sound system.) Upstairs, an unforgettable master bedroom, with soaring 6 metres ceilings and sweeping views of the surrounding rice paddies. The massive antique carved bedhead frames a king size bed and was once a prestigious house façade in Java. One visitor likens spending a night here to “sleeping in the world’s sexiest art gallery,” with waxed, black ironwood floors, massive teak beams and, wrapping around the room, the unfolding saga of the Ramayana in beautiful, softly lit kamisan paintings.

The bedroom leads onto a separate walk in robe (huge) complete with safe, and an exotic, hand-formed ensuite bathroom that’s straight out of the Arabian nights. This in turn opens onto the eye-popping Gaudi-esque outdoor shower, patterned entirely underfoot and on all sides with a dazzling collection of 1920s terrazzo tiles rescued from mansions being demolished in Java.

Like the country which inspired it, Villa RaJa is itself an unforgettable cultural experience. From the huge ‘fantastic creatures” front door (carved out of a 1000 year old sprawling lychee’s root) to the magnificent, carved Borobodur style taro stone gate; or the priceless antique Sumba stone ceremonial slab which serves as a bridge to the dining gazebo, which “floats” on a water lily pond, replete with giant fish. This is indeed a photographer’s paradise.

    The Healthiest Villa in Bali
After 20 years of tolerating wrenching gut problems, twisted limbs from shonky architecture, lying awake to an insane cacophony of flirting geckos and fighting rodents, or sweltering in the heat while drowning in mosquito repellent, the owners decided that some aspects of their villa would be quintessentially un-Balinese.

Insect screens, (practically unknown in Bali) protect all bedroom and bathroom windows at Villa Raja. All rooms are air conditioned and supplied with fans as well. The buildings have been built to Western safety design standards so no shonky, wobbly steps, cracked paths or dangerous shortcuts here.

A sophisticated advanced secondary sewerage treatment system ensures that Villa RaJa only recycles clean, safe water back into the Balinese environment.

Kitchen staff have been trained in Western standards of hygiene and prepare food in two impeccably clean and modern kitchens (one for guests, one for kitchen staff) but of course training is of little use in a country where an ice block in your gin and tonic can put you on your back for a week.

Water, water everywhere but not a drop you’d drink
If there is one thing as synonymous with Bali as beauty, it’s tourists laid down with Bali Belly. Bali’s water is decidedly 3rd world and everyone uses bottled water to drink, brush teeth etc. But it’s pretty well impossible, if not financially unviable, to wash food in bottled water, or shower and wash in it, which is why the owners have installed a state of the art water purification plant, again using the colloidal silver filtration system, the world’s most effective water purification technology (as used on the space shuttle.) Pure, totally safe drinking water is piped to all showers, basins etc in the house.

    Villa Umah di Beji (5br)

This luxury 5 bedrooms villa location in Canggu with tropical jungle surround and bordering the river, Villa Umah di Beji is a magnificent tranquil villa of exceptional aesthetic appeal. Five building structures housing the five delicious king-sized suites are creatively set amidst the mature garden and numerous water features, surrounding the rectangular “bath“ (beji) swimming pool. This villa is without doubt one of the finest examples of five star accommodation available in Bali today.

All rooms have air and fan conditioning and many entertainment centers and safety deposit boxes are located around the property. The size and design of the grounds has provided many secluded seating areas making this villa the perfect location for groups of friends or family to congregate together or enjoy private holiday time.

The first building is the main living space, an elongated wall-less bale (Balinese gazebo). This space encompasses a ten-seater dining table centered below a gorgeous teak chandelier with drooping candles, and an eclectic mix of lounging areas. Adorned with an array of antique pieces from Lombok and tasteful modern wall hangings, this bale is the ideal location for entertaining large or small groups of guests. The state of the art kitchen is intelligently located in this building so staff can easily attend to every gastronomic whim of guests.

The master suite is enclosed in a private structure at the edge of the property with a wooden deck atop the riverbank and a comfortable daybed for guests to restfully enjoy this natural retreat. The interior of the suite is the epitome of modern Chinese luxury. The room focuses around the enormous bed which is headed by a full length floral wall hanging framed by dark teak beams and a beautiful example of Chinese ceramic work. Overlooking the river is a corner lounge area with soft furnishings and a study room, where there is an impressive vase collection set in built-in wall boxes and a striking golden Buddha lamp.

In keeping with the overall style of the villa, water plays a key role in the opulent design of the en-suite bathroom. The focal point of the sumptuous garden surround is a teak bale housing a sunken natural stone bathtub flanked by male and female helper statues.

A rectangular lotus pond with stepping stone access surrounds the bale. There is also a shower room, lawn area for private sunbathing and a separate decked bale, ideal for Ti Chi or meditation.

The second and third bedrooms share an outdoor lounge with natural furnishings and immaculate gardens. Both rooms also boast private terraces, including a breakfasting terrace in bedroom three. The white washed rooms host examples of Indonesian batik designs and stamps. The second bedroom has a mosquito canopied king sized bed mounted on a teak platform and lavished with layers of white cushions. The third bedroom is of similar design with twin beds. Sandwiched between the Oriental minimalist opaque glass doors of the bedrooms and en-suites, are dressing rooms with sunken square basins. The symmetrical en-suites are exceptional examples of al fresco bathrooms with sunken tubs and gargoyle showerheads.

The fourth building has a sumptuous four-poster bed and the interior design combines a mixture of woods and natural fiber furnishings. The en-suite has an outdoor shower and pristine gardens. The structure housing bedroom five has ornate Balinese carved doors, a private seating deck overlooking the river valley and an outdoors en-suite bathroom. Furnishings include a teak four-poster and an antique mounted Javanese mask set on the writing desk.

An informal dining bale (Balinese gazebo) complete with a dining/games table and daybed is the final teak structure positioned atop the river bank and is a great spot for afternoon drinks and repose.

The 15m x 5m infinity edged pool tastefully blends into the garden surround and is fronted by a smaller pool complete with gargoyle fountains, that resembles the royal hot springs found elsewhere in Bali. Following patterned pathways leading around the landscaped grounds, guests will discover many delightful secluded spots and examples of both Buddhist and Balinese Hindu statues.

Villa Umah di Beji is an excellent base for holiday rest or exploration of Bali. The villa encompasses the very essence of luxury. The combination of interior and exterior attention to detail, an eye for quality art and creative flair make this perfectly maintained villa a first class choice for a vacation in Bali.

The villa is staffed complete with its own villa manager, a full time chef, as well as chamber maids, gardeners and its own security team. All are there to ensure that your stay at Umah di Beji is a most memorable experience and one to which you look forward to return

    Bali Villa Sebali Ubud

This beautiful, very spacious villa on the edge of Sebali, a pretty village just outside Ubud, is a luxurious haven from which to enjoy both the peace and the delights of Bali. The views from the house are of typical rice terraces and, in the distance, spectacular Mt Agung and the dramatic mountains towards the north of the island. We have been careful to be environmentally sensitive - green - with many eco-features including solar power and water heating, and a beautiful garden with organically grown fruit trees.

Villa Sebali is just about 10 minute’s drive from the centre of Ubud, the cultural and artistic heart of Bali. All on good roads, half the drive is through typical villages, beautiful rice fields and tropical forest, and half past interesting art galleries, antique and craft shops, and restaurants. Ubud is about one and a quarter hours drive from the airport.

The house is built round three sides of a grassy, flower-ringed courtyard, with the fourth side an infinity pool looking down over a cascade of lotus and water-lily ponds to the orchard. It has four very special bedroom suites and combines the luxury of air-conditioned bedrooms with the delight of open air living.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, a library/games room and a table tennis room.

We have included many environmentally-friendly features, from the thick, alang-alang roofs which provide wonderful insulation, to solar powered water heating and electricity systems, and natural waste water treatment.

The garden is lavishly planted with many sweet-smelling trees and flowers. Beside the pool is a pretty balé, a traditional grass-roofed pavilion for shaded relaxation, while below it a path winds through the lotus ponds down to the orchard with its wide range of tropical fruit trees. As these mature, guests will be able to pick their own choice of fruit….

The villa is managed locally by the incomparable Rita Dewi and has four full time staff, two in the house and two gardeners/security. Our house staff will prepare your breakfasts, maintain the house and rooms immaculately, and be on hand to aid and advise you.

There are many things to do and see – artistic, sporting, cultural, spiritual and purely self-indulgent - within easy reach.

But also, green, quiet, fragrant Villa Sebali is a wonderful place just to be.

Note : Villa Sebali is not suitable for very young children because of the many ponds and the pool. It can be made wheelchair accessible, however.

The house is approached by a tree fern-shaded path leading from the front courtyard with space for three or four cars, to a bridge over a lotus pool and into the main building

Dining area: spacious and equipped for up to 12 at table. It is open to the garden at one side and has two steps down to the living area.

At the side is the Kitchen: fully equipped with large fridge-freezer and permanent chilled drinking water.

Living area: an enormous room open to the garden with ample seating and many art works.

All the above areas have rich terra-cotta coloured floor tiles, a lovely combination of warmth for the eye and coolness for the room.

    Guest cloakroom and WC

Stairs lead from the living area to Sky bedroom suite: vast, with a fantastic cathedral ceiling and flower-edged terraces facing all four points of the compass with views to die for! A large dressing area leads to the bathroom which is partly open air with wash basin, WC, bath, separate shower and a small garden. One of its four terraces is covered and has seating for relaxing and admiring the garden and view.

From the living area a lobby leads to the south wing with Forest bedroom suite: equipped with twin beds which can also be joined to make one king size bed. The dressing area leads to the shower room with wash basin and separate WC. A door leads through to the

Library: an enchanting rotunda which can also be reached directly by steps from the garden. Equipped with flat screen TV, books, games and comfortable seating, this room can either be used as a sitting room for the Forest Bedroom, or as a communal room for all guests.

Again from the living area, a short path leads over the lotus pool to the independent Sunset bedroom suite: This is another generous room with cathedral ceiling and a queen sized bed. The spacious dressing area leads through to the bathroom with basin, WC, shower and garden. It has its own pretty patio.

Across the courtyard and opposite the library is another independent building, Sunrise bedroom suite: As the name suggests, this huge room with its magnificent ceiling and king size bed faces east, towards Mt Agung, and has double doors opening onto a raised deck shaded by a flower-festooned pergola. Steps lead down to the pool and courtyard. There is a big dressing area leading through to the biggest bathroom of all which, again, is partly open to the sky and has its own garden. It is equipped with bath, basin, shower and separate WC.

All the bedrooms have mosquito nets and full air-conditioning, though the house is designed to optimize cooling: all the rooms are shaded by the deep eaves of the alang-alang roofs, and big windows allow refreshing air to flow through freely. There are ceiling fans in all rooms including the living areas.

Additional beds can be supplied, and there is also a very large comfortable daybed in the living area which would make an excellent extra bed. Guests who like the idea of sleeping under the stars could even sleep on the balé!

The Basement is reached by steps from the garden and is a very large room with table tennis table and space to store extra furniture, suitcases etc.

Staff accommodation is situated under the front garden, cleverly cooled by its grass roof. It has its own entrance from the front courtyard car parking area.

The villa is built on almost 3000sq.m. (3/4 acre) so the gardens are generous and have been beautifully planted by a top professional and are maintained on organic principles.

Beyond the courtyard and pool, a series of voluptuous ponds echoing the neighbouring rice fields and planted with lotus and water lilies cascades down to the orchard, and pretty paths wind between them. The orchard is planted with, among other fruits: avocados, pineapples, mangoes, papayas, bananas, jack fruit, durian, nutmeg, lemons and limes. There is also a herb garden for keen cooks.

The infinity swimming pool is 12m. x 4m. plus a side sitting area. For relaxing there are garden reclining chairs and big sunshades as well as the pretty balé. There is a built-in barbeque adjacent to the balé for al fresco cooking and dining.

    Staff
Villa Sebali’s local manager is Rita Dewi, a famous Balinese dancer. She has excellent English and can help with any problems and special requests. She will be sure to come to the villa to meet you and ensure that all is well.
Our senior house staff person is Made (pronounced Madé ) a well educated young man who also has very good English. As well as having considerable hotel experience, Made has run a tour company for individual travelers in Bali so can help with suggestions and plans for things to see and do.
His assistant is Ayu, a delightful young woman who also has some English. If your party is very large, we can employ extra staff from the village.

    Catering
Breakfasts – eggs, toasts, fresh fruit and juices, tea and coffee – are included in the rental and can be served in the dining room or in your room.
Lunch and dinner are not included, but we can arrange for a cook to come in, or advise on restaurants which can deliver, at your cost. And there are dozens – maybe hundreds – of cafes and restaurants within a 20 minute drive of Villa Sebali, from the very modest to top level.
Alternatively, you may use the fully equipped kitchen (hob, oven, microwave) and the barbeque to cook for yourselves (the staff may well be willing to help out too). There is an excellent supermarket just 10 minutes away which has a huge range of foods, both European and Asian, and an organic section. For the adventurous, the market in Ubud provides all manner of local produce.
There is also an excellent health food shop and cafe in Ubud, just off the main street (Jalan Raya), called Bali Buddha.

    Others
    - A locally usable mobile phone will be supplied.
    - All linen is provided.
    - We have our own well with very good water, perfect for everyday use. However, as a precaution, filtered drinking water is supplied.

Savor this view overlooking the garden from the highest point of the property - it is both magical and unforgettable.

Stroll through the gardens paved with special stepping stones, where water greets you everywhere - tropical ponds with delicate lotus and water lilies, reflecting ponds mirroring coconut and frangipani trees, and still water ponds nurturing goldfish and dragon fish and creating a natural environment for the local flora and fauna. Tropical flowers, shrubs and trees are swept in by the refreshing breeze where you will find a virtual celebration of nature and life. K?NTI is the ‘Sanskrit’ word for “light” and the residence is bathed in natural light while protecting the privacy of our residents.

The focal point of the property is the open-air living and dining pavilion, which drops down onto the 20 x 4 meters lap swimming pool filled with salt-treated water. This infinity pool is complemented by a ‘Hammam’ (steam room) and Jacuzzi just beside it. At the lowest reaches of this abode, overlooking more rice fields, a meditation Bale located over a quietly gurgling stream that marks the edge of the property will wait for you for a few moments of seclusion, meditation, relaxation or for a massage session.

All corners of the villa are decorated with a plethora of antiques, crafts and artifacts from the Indonesian islands – Java, Borneo, Sulawesi, Lombok, Sumba, the Moluccas, Irian Jaya and Bali itself. These decorative and contemplative pieces, which have been collected over the years by the villa’s owners, who themselves live in the property when it is unoccupied, further enrich the discreetly cultural yet meditative atmosphere of the house.

During your stay, you will be serviced by ten staff who will offer you the highest level of personal service while providing absolute discretion and privacy. They will be at your service to ensure your stay is one of total relaxation and comfort.

    Villa Leha Leha ( 4br )

    Introduction

Villa Leha-Leha takes its name from the Javanese word for peace, day-dreaming, relaxing, or being empty-minded while lying prostrate and gazing at the sky! It’s an appropriate title for this enchanting four bedroom retreat, complete with swimming pool and plunge pools, nestled on the edge of a steep sided valley through which Bali’s sacred Ayung River wends it way on the final stage of its journey to the sea.

    Living Pavilion

The large two-storey living pavilion incorporates two living areas on two different levels.
The downstairs open-sided living room is encompassed by fish ponds and a timber deck. This breezy raised pavilion presides over the pool and garden and its marble floor is gracefully furnished with an Oriental rug, lazy chairs, sofa, standard lamp and a coffee table. A 42-inch, flat screen, multi-channel TV, DVD, CD player and radio stereo system is discretely housed within a wooden cabinet, and there is also a comprehensive collection of videos, books and games. The decor is enhanced by some colorful local artwork and artifacts; a ceiling fan helps to keep the area cool and blinds can be dropped for privacy.

A guest washroom is located downstairs, just off the living room

The upstairs lounge is accessed from the dining room, via a sliding door that leads onto a Palimanan stone staircase. This peaceful lounge is another wonderful, breezy open-air space. It features a teakwood floor under a soaring thatched roof, and is furnished with wide opium daybeds, a pair of leather Kartini chairs and an Oriental rug. Boasting a splendid view of the garden and the river valley extending to the ocean, this is a great area for chilling out and relaxing with a book. Every need is considered with the additional provision of a ceiling fan.

    Work Room

An all-glass Cathedral window extends from the roof to the ground floor, and separates the upstairs lounge from the air-conditioned work room. This delightful study presents a teak desk with a computer and internet access for the use of the guests. An eye-catching painting adorns one wall, and a long Oriental rug rests on the warm timber floor, together with leather-upholstered Kartini chairs and a bookcase full of magazines. To one side of the work room is an open-air stone terrace surrounded by a balustrade.

    Dining Room

The air-conditioned dining room is linked to the downstairs Living Room by two sets of Palimanan stone steps. With a marble floor, and large glass sliding doors on three sides, the room has an open feeling; it is furnished with a dining table for eight, and fitted with a glass-fronted teak cabinet.

    Kitchen

The small but well-equipped air-conditioned kitchen is conveniently positioned next to the dining room. It features a marble service counter, marble work tops and teakwood wall cabinets. On the far side of the kitchen is an attractive water court, with large stepping stones across the fish pond. Carved water-spouting griffins create a serene ambiance with the constant sound of running water.

    Bedrooms

Villa Leha-Leha is equipped with four self-contained bedroom suites, each located in private thatched pavilions and each one linked to its own indoor bathroom and private outdoor shower. Two of the bedrooms boast private plunge pools, and two are supplied with music systems. Each marble-floored, air-conditioned bedroom is furnished with a queen-size four poster canopied bed, a chair, bedside tables and lamps, while bold local artwork adorns the walls. Dressing areas, with fitted cupboards and walls mirrors, lead into marble bathrooms each complete with twin washbasins, a bathtub, an indoor shower and a toilet hidden behind a teak door. Each bathtub is positioned beside a picture window with doors opening into a small private walled garden. These doors can be opened to create an alfresco bathing experience, and there is also an open-air shower in each of the private gardens.
A fifth bedroom (without en-suite bathroom), furnished with up to four extra single beds, is ideal for children.

    Garden and Swimming Pool

The beautiful landscaped gardens of Villa Leha-Leha are planted with sweet scented flowering shrubs and tropical trees. The free form, infinity-edge swimming pool overhangs the river valley and is flanked by a stone pool deck. At one end of the pool are some sunken stone bar stools flanking a pool bar with an attractive ironwood shingle roof.

    Location

Quiet and safe, Villa Leha-Leha is ideally situated in a rural setting five minutes from Sindhu Beach and the historical village of Sanur. The nearby Sanur-Kusumba by-pass, which extends from Seminyak to East Bali, positions the villa within easy driving distance of most of Bali’s tourist attractions. The diversity of Bali presents everything from diving, cruising and trekking, to adventure sports and theme parks. Horse riding takes place just a few kilometers away at Saba stables, and three of the best golf courses in the world are located within easy driving distance. The villa is just twenty-five minutes’ drive from Bali’s international airport, forty minutes from the cultural town of Ubud, fifteen minutes from Sukawati art and handicraft market, and conveniently close to the Island’s numerous spas, shops, restaurants and vibrant nightspots

    Villa Cemara

Villa Cemara, absolute Beachfront - a location unparalleled

Tucked between a five star hotel and an ancient temple, the 60-metres frontage of Villa Cemara edges the golden sands of Bali’s oldest beach resort.

At Cemara Beach, relaxation, water sports and local life intermingle like shuffled cards. Morning beachcombers watch dive boats heading out to the offshore island of Nusa Penida, where upsurging currents bring mola-mola and other rare sea creatures.

As sun worshippers settle into their lounges, fisherman in pandanus hats wade into the shallows with lines and nets, windsurfers skim past and parasailors glide overhead. A kilometre out, silver waves break over the reef that shelters Sanur from undertows and crashing surf.

Now and then, processions wind across the sands as local families and communities hold ceremonies at the water’s edge or at tiny temples shaded by sea almonds and coconut palms. After dark, the sound of gamelan practice mixes with western music from scattered café’s, candles glow on restaurant tables and the lamps of the night fishermen shine beneath the stars.

Villa Cemara is available for short-stay private rental, and is the ideal alternative to exclusive world-class hotel accommodation. Absolute beachfront, exquisite uninterrupted sea views, international cuisine, attentive service - combined with the security and sophistication of a private residence make Villa Cemara the perfect location for the discerning traveller.
    Private beachfront villa :

Close your eyes - just for a moment ….
Dinner for two. Your private table is away - overlooking the long, white sands of Sanur. Palm trees rustle and candles dance on a tropical breeze. The sun sets deep in a reddening sky - stars mirror themselves in the warm waters of Lombok Straight. Your food is exquisite, the wine superb.

And what of tomorrow? Does it really matter?
A lazy chat over lunch with friends, or the peace and quiet of your own space and time - you will soon warm to the very essence of Bali - Cemara style.

    Luxury group accommodation :

You, and up to ten of your guests, are invited to stay at Cemara. Each will experience personal service that is world-class. Attentive yet unobtrusive. You will judge us not only by what we do for you, but also for when we stay away. Anticipating your needs and dedicated to providing you with absolute comfort and personal service, our English speaking staff are trained to ensure a truly 5 star stay at Cemara.

A feature of every stay at Villa Cemara is the superb cuisine. Our chef will craft meals to your requirements, incorporating a blend of local delicacies and western favourites.

Drawing from the spiritual roots of the Sanur district, Villa Cemara takes its name from the native Cemara tree that shades the temple on the southern side of the Villa. Designed by acclaimed Balinese architect Popo Danes, Villa Cemara blends the traditional with the ultra-modern, incorporating facilities you have come to expect in life. The private grounds spread out along the beachfront - but you are never too far from the very heart of Sanur Village.

    Beachfront luxury villa in Bali:

Renowned for its bohemian artistic heritage and enduring appeal, Bali’s Sanur Beach has long been regarded as a destination for the discerning world traveller. Now, at Villa Cemara you can complement traditional, tropical open-air living with beachfront luxury and world class personal service.

Escape to Cemara - the very best of both worlds.

Imagine bathing amongst scented flowers - at one with nature under the tropical night sky. The private, open-air bathrooms of Cemara are renowned for their luxury and sensuality. There are just five beachfront Villa Suites for guests at Cemara, each with its own open- air bathroom, private balcony and each with a stunning view across the sands of Sanur … to the ocean and islands beyond.

    Beach front Villa Suites:

Inside, each beach front Villa Suite has been individually tailored. Fine Balinese furnishings, original artworks and wooden sculptures, please all who come to stay.

Relax here, ‘at home’, or wander to the beach front Pavilion, the spiritual heart of Villa Cemara. This beautiful, open-air building, with its “Alang Alang” thatched roof, is a focus of daily life at Cemara - elevated this elegantly crafted pavilion seems to float like a raft come to rest. This is traditional Balinese architecture at its best, defining yet not enclosing space, open to the shifting light and the salt tang carried on the breeze. A place to dream alone or socialize, it separates the private gardens, sundeck and pool from the vast expanse of sea and sky beyond.

The choice is yours to take.
Most come to Cemara to get away. But for guests who need to stay in touch, Villa Cemara is equipped with - IDD phone, fax, e-mail, printer and copier.

Chauffeur and self-drive services are available to take you to anywhere in Bali that you want to go. Villa Cemara is just 15 minutes from Bali’s International Ngurah Rai Airport, 35 minutes from the mountain forests of Ubud and 25 minutes from the bustling Kuta & Seminyak districts.

    Recreational activities in Bali :
In between calls back home, you may choose to relax or recharge. Our staff can arrange a host of recreational activities. Sunset beach walks, reef snorkelling, guided mountain-bike tours, white-water rafting, sailing, diving, cultural tours, massage, yoga or pamper yourself with a tropical spa treatment.

Villa Cemara is staffed with an internationally trained chef and waiting staff who are able to craft exquisite meals to guest requirements.
    Exquisite meals to your requirements:

Each evening during a guest’s stay, the staff will discuss and agree the food and beverage menu for the following day - suggesting local favorites and dishes incorporating in-season produce while taking account of guests’ personal preferences and special dietary requirements. When the menu is agreed, the staff will calculate the approximate Indonesian Rupiah cost of the ingredients and collect this money from the guests. Each morning, the staff will go to market and purchase the produce and other items necessary to prepare the agreed menu. They will collect receipts for each item purchased and provide an accounting of their expenditure as often as guests require.

As a guide, 4 adult guests will require around Indonesian Rupiah 400,000 per day for food.

Wine, beer and other spirits are available in Bali and can be purchased as required by our staff. However, wine and spirits are rather expensive due to the high import duties on alcohol in Indonesia, so it is recommended that these items be purchased by guests prior to arrival, or at duty free on arrival.

    Villa Coraffan (4br + 1)

The Villa set around a five-by-17-meter infinity pool, each of Coraffan’s bedrooms has a spectacular view. The villa has an open-air living room with a sound system and equipped bar. Other common areas include a fitness room, a detached viewing platform ideal for morning meditation or yoga as well as late afternoon cocktails, and a detached dining area surrounded by balconies.

Coraffan’s air-conditioned TV room has a full bathroom so that it can be used as a fifth bedroom if needed. Coraffan also has a fully appointed kitchen with staff quarters and a parking area with a security post.

Canggu is located in the northern most part of the Kuta district. Coraffan’s neighbourhood is accessible along Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, also known as Jalan Hotel Tugu for the distinguished hotel at the end of the road. Villa Coraffan is set back by 200 meters from this road, accessible through a private lane. The Villa is only 20 minutes away from Seminyak, though a new road from Canggu Tua to Batu Beliq will cut the time to Seminyak’s Petitengget area, (where the Oberoi Hotel is), in half.

Canggu’s landscape is dominated by gently rolling hills in varying shades of green, depending on the stage of the rice harvest, and closer to the ocean, pastures dotted with grazing cattle. Under moonlight, Canggu’s landscape is breathtaking as the midnight blue and the softly lit green of the terraced rice fields create a dreamlike vista.

Most of Canggu’s residents earn their living either from farming or fishing, and the government has designated large parcels of the area as “green zones” to avoid the traffic snarls and other conflicts between residential and commercial development experienced in high-density tourist areas of the island.

The two main beaches in the area are Pantai Batu Bolong and Pantai Batu Mejan, commonly known as Echo Beach. “The Echo” is very popular among more experienced surfers, while Batu Bolong is more swimmer-friendly, (as long as you don’t go in very far). Both beaches are approximately one kilometer away from Coraffan. Guests often enjoy watching Echo Beach’s spectacular sunsets over a cold beer or a glass of wine at The Beach House restaurant.

With the newly opened Canggu International Club, the first of its kind in Bali, and a few international schools in the neighbourhood, Canggu is becoming the preferred location for those seeking sophistication, privacy and peace.

The living room. Coraffan’s open-air living room lets guests stretch out in fan-cooled shade without losing any connection to the pool, the garden or Canggu’s magnificent scenery beyond. By sundown, the room comes into its own with warmly textured lighting and a bar that will bring all the guests together to kick off the evening’s activities.

The dining room, which can be as open to the elements as you wish, gives guests a dignified setting to complement our chef’s culinary delights. There are balconies off three sides of the dining room, where guests like to congregate before and/or after each meal to sip cocktails and chat under the stars.

    Bedroom 2

The second bedroom features a spacious, partially open bathroom and a balcony overlooking Coraffan’s zen-inspired fish pond. The room is cooled with air-conditioning.

    Bedroom 3

The third bedroom has a balcony overlooking a private corner of Coraffan’s gardens, a crow’s nest terrace and a spacious, open-air bathroom. The room can be cooled with air-conditioning or ceiling fan.

    Bedroom 4

The fourth bedroom has a balcony with a 180-degree view of Canggu’s rice fields and a crow’s nest terrace overlooking the entire property as well as the surrounding terraced land. This bedroom features a spacious, garden-style bathroom. The room can be cooled with air-conditioning or ceiling fan.

    The TV/Internet Room/bedroom 5 Coraffan’s TV room

Offers guests a cool and secluded break from the sunshine, appropriate for surfing the Internet, watching DVDs on our 42-inch plasma screen television or just stretching out with a novel. This room has a full bathroom, giving guests the option of turning it into a fifth bedroom, which our staff can do by setting up our double sofa bed.

    The Fitness Room

Coraffan’s fitness room is equipped with a Universal weight set and a static bike/cross trainer. This room is also fitted out with air-conditioning and a bathroom with a shower.

    The Kitchen

Coraffan’s kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with a four-burner stove, oven, microwave and large-capacity refrigerator/freezer.

A fully-equipped kitchen is behind the Garden Suite and is accessible from the car-parking area. There is so much attention to detail; even the water tower is decorated with fanciful carved flowers, dragonflies and birds.

An arched gateway with rustic Balinese doors marks the entrance to the beautiful garden, accessed by a dramatic flight of seventeen stone steps leading down from the car-park level. The garden is shaded by verdant jungle foliage and filled with an abundance of brightly coloured, sweet-scented tropical flowers and plants. A gnarled frangipani tree overhangs the enticing swimming pool; the water appears to cascade over the curved infinity edge into the backdrop of banana plants, bamboo, and towering coconut palms. A large relaxation gazebo, known as a ‘Bale Bengong’, is situated next to the pool and offers the comfort of cushioned daybeds. Sunloungers are positioned on the white Palimanan stone patio; hand-carved paras stone statues and garden lamps create a romantic ambience. The constant sound of the fast flowing Petanu River, as it carves its way through the steep gorge below, is accompanied by the melody of birdsong and cicadas.

Villa Alamanda is an ideal choice for those looking for modern luxury in peaceful surroundings; an enchanting retreat where guests can enjoy a relaxing experience with personalised service.

    Location

Villa Alamanda is located in Ubud.

One hour’s drive from Ngurah Rai international airport, Ubud is Bali’s centre for fine arts, dance and music; while the surrounding villages are home to Bali’s most accomplished painters, dancers, musicians and carvers. This remarkable town is encompassed by magnificent terraced rice fields, rivers, traditional villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples and palaces. It is located 300 metres above sea level in the foothills of the central mountain range; this gives it a fresher, more pleasant climate than the southern coastal regions.

The numerous art galleries in Ubud feature traditional and modern work; the museums showcase the island’s rich history, and the shops and the market stalls sell handicrafts, jewellery, woodcarvings, textiles, paintings and antiques. There are many, well-presented, cultural performances staged in the town, in particular the Hindu epic, the Ramayana; also the Kecak dance, the fire dance, the monkey dance and the Legong dance. The countryside around Ubud is particularly beautiful, with an abundance of trails offering memorable walks through the peaceful rice fields.

The location is convenient for tours all over the island and is only a forty-minute drive from the coast.
